MEP & Technical Systems

ALDesign Structures installs, integrates, tests and commissions mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and low-current systems as part of its construction and fit-out packages in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

What this means on site

How it is delivered.

MEP is where most handover delays originate, because it is the only package that has to be proved working rather than proved built. A wall is finished when it looks finished; a chilled-water system is finished when it has been balanced and commissioned.

Treating commissioning as a scheduled phase rather than a final scramble is the difference between a handover date and an aspiration.

Scope

What is included.

  • HVAC installation and balancing
  • Electrical distribution, containment and final fix
  • Plumbing, drainage and water treatment
  • Fire detection, alarm and suppression
  • Low-current: data, access control, CCTV, BMS
  • Testing, commissioning and O&M documentation

Delivery models: Lump Sum, Design–Build, EPC-light. Interfaces: PMCs, client-direct, joint ventures.

Common questions

Asked before we start.

Is MEP delivered separately from the main contract?

It is normally delivered within the construction or fit-out package so that installation, integration and commissioning answer to one programme. It can also be taken as a standalone technical package.

Does the scope include commissioning and O&M documentation?

Yes. Testing, commissioning, approvals and handover documentation are a defined phase of the published three-stage methodology, not an afterthought.
