How it works

Directional signs are the load-bearing part of any wayfinding scheme. They are placed at decision points rather than at regular intervals, and each one carries only the destinations that matter from where the reader is standing. Get the placement wrong and no amount of graphic quality rescues the scheme; get it right and visitors stop noticing the signs at all, which is the objective.
